Provides HR consultation and support to a designated location. Uses working knowledge of the business to provide HR workforce planning support and guidance to line managers. Analyzes trends and develops workforce plans to resolve issues and make a positive impact on business results. Utilizes knowledge of various HR functions to provide tactical support to line managers.  Receives guidance and support from Corporate Senior HR Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401k plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401k plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as uniforms.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 1 to 2 employees in the Human Resources Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; maintaining and updating HR metrics, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills Intermediate level Microsoft Office.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations SPHR/ PHR or SHRM-SP/ SHRM-CP preferred but not required.
