$$ Our pay scale $$:

Our starting rate for Welder I is $16.75/hr. Upon hitting your 90 days, you will be weld tested for a Welder II. Upon successful completion of the weld test, you would be moved to the Weld II rate of $20.55/hour. If you have multiple years of weld experience, you can test in at a Weld II. If you pass the weld II exam, your starting rate would be $20.55/hour . In your first year, you will be evaluated every 90 days. If you are meeting exectations, you'll increase your hourly rate by $0.50/hr every 90 days! That's an additional $2.00/hour at the end of your first year!! After your first year, you'll move to 6 month evaluations until reaching top rate.  If you are meeting expectations during your semi-annual reviews, that will increase your pay by $1.00/hr. If you exceed, you'll increase your hourly pay by $1.40!!  that is a yearly increase of $2.00 for meeting expectations, and a yearly increase of $2.80 if you're exceeding!! 

 

Summary

Welds metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by blueprints by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts.

Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.

Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal.

Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.

Cleans or degreases parts.

Ability to MIG weld.

Ability to read AWS blue prints.

Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including climbing step ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
