John Young Obituary
John Thomas Young, age 63 of Apison, TN, died on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Hospice care at his home. John was born and raised in Chattanooga where he attended Tyner High School. He worked at Miller Industries as an installer for three decades. He was a believer in and follower of the Lord, Jesus Christ and was baptized at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church in the early 1970’s. John was proceeded in death by his father, Herbert C. Young; mother, Mae Robinson young; and sister, Linda Matthews, all of Chattanooga. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Kay Jones Young, formerly of Greenwood, WV, who is a current resident of Apison, TN; sisters, Judy Broadrick of Ringgold, GA and Lisa Collins of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; sister-in-law, Melissa Lynn of Apison, TN; several nieces and nephews, and a large and loving extended family. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Joey Chadwick, Jason Matthews, Brennan Nielson, Luke Chadwick, Hunter Wolf and Travis Gipson. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday prior to the service. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their wonderful care.
