70+ Leaders have now Graduated from Cohorts 1, 2, & 3 of Miller Industries Frontline Leadership Academy (FLA), many receiving promotions after enrolling in the course. FLA is an in-person, hands-on course delivered by the world-class training team at Catalyst North Training. The Course meets for eight hours once a month for six months and teaches participants skills essential for being an effective leader. A cohort of participants meets at the Miller Industries Campuses: Greeneville, Hermitage, and Ooltewah.

Topics covered include Emotional Intelligence, the Power of Habit, Systems Thinking, Communication, how to have Crucial Conversations, Coaching Employees, Resolving Conflict, Employee Engagement, and Change Management. Participants also have the opportunity to create a project proposal called a Capstone Project and pitch their proposal to upper-level management. If their project is approved, they can implement it themselves, giving them real-world practical experience.

Important Course Details:

The Frontline Leadership Academy course is designed to help new, emerging, and potential leaders transition into leadership positions.

  • Capstone Project: You’ll have the opportunity to pitch a project idea that will improve the company in some way to upper-level management, and you’ll drive implementation of the project if approved. This requires some work outside of class between sessions.
  •
    • - This is a great way to display your problem-solving and business acumen abilities, both critical elements of an effective leader.
    • - We’ll teach you how to use PowerPoint Presentations and effectively present.
    • - You’ll have support from your trainer to help you develop and tweak your project proposal throughout the course.
    •
  • This course is interactive and hands-on. You will be expected to come to each class session on time, alert, engaged, and ready to interact, practice, and participate in group discussions.
  •
  • - Although the course will sometimes cause you to reflect on what can be done better in the company, you are expected to remain professional and provide thoughtful solutions and helpful discussions.
  •
  • Training is conducted on scheduled days off for the shift. With one training group for each Blue/White production shift. All course sessions are 8 hours long from 8 am-5 pm, with an hour lunch unless otherwise specified.
    •
    • - Blue/White schedule employees; this means coming in on an off day 1x per month.
    •
    • - M-F schedule employees will be assigned to one shift group, but classes will always be scheduled on a weekday. You will be expected to stay caught up on the work you miss while you are in class 1x per month.
  •
