Miller Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Ooltewah, TN operations. This position is responsible for performing maintenance related responsibilities, (through working with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Lead) to include upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The position is also responsible for working alongside other Maintenance Technicians and vendors to ensure electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems are in properly working order. This position is also responsible for participating in plant preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, work orders and parts inventory systems, under the direction of both the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead and Director of Maintenance.


  • Assists in managing a comprehensive written preventative/predictive maintenance program encompassing all facility equipment.
  • Schedules and tracks all daily maintenance tasks performed by crew and ensures work has been completed.
  • Provides support to plant and production if breakdown of equipment occurs; and is available 24/7 to work through complex and maintenance related issues.
  • Complete scheduled work assignments, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Director.
  • Responsible for preparation, installation and repair of equipment as necessary.
  • Track, analyze and take corrective action to prevent equipment down time.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring the installation of assigned capital/improvement projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency
  • Complete special projects, duties and assignments, as appropriate and where directed.
  • Ability to keep safety as a high priority, complying with Miller Industries safety regulations to create a safe work environment and OSHA complaint.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area ensuring the proper care of tools and other equipment and adheres to Miller Industries 5S policy.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving spare parts inventory.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Director and employees of Miller Industries
  • Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to operate heavy duty equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.



  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 - 3+ years of maintenance or maintenance related experience
  • 1-3 years or more prior experience in manufacturing maintenance; preventative maintenance and equipment installations (can be combination)
  • Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Paint experience highly preferred**
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people and skillsets
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to analyze data and information, and to make effective and timely decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and handle ambiguity with a positive attitude
