Requirements

The candidate will be required to work in a challenging, but rewarding position helping Miller Industries staff with day-to-day problems and operations. This position will allow you to build and use your skills in communication and information technology to support our staff around the world. Each case is unique and presents its own set of challenges and rewards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer technical support calls, open support tickets, and address support requests
  • Maintain positive staff communications
  • Troubleshoot applications, VPN, networking, operating systems, and hardware such as: printers, PCs, workstations, Microsoft Surfaces, and Apple MacOS & iOS devices
  • Install, test, remove, and configure operating systems, applications, and hardware
  • Provide user assistance and training as needed on operating systems, applications, and hardware
  • Provide emergency support after business hours, holiday and weekends as needed
  • Compile and maintain detailed documentation
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Must Have Skills & Experience

  • Must have at least one – two years in a customer service position; help desk experience preferable
  • Be a curious problem solver with a strong desire to learn
  • Must have excellent customer service & troubleshooting skills, be able to provide quality customer service and work well with IT staff as well as other employees and distributors
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking & troubleshooting
  • Windows 10, Apple  iOS experience
  • MS Office 365 experience
  • Network printer troubleshooting experience
  • Understanding of Active Directory user management & computer management
  • An ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing is required
  • Ability to research and recommend new products
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-Motivated

Nice to have Skills & Experience

  • An understanding of Windows DNS & DHCP
  • Linux/Unix experience
  • Apple MacOS experience
  • An understanding of Windows NTFS & File Share permissions
  • Basic routing, switching, and VPN experience
  • MS Office 365 administration
  • Knowledge of relevant specialty software, (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Final Cut, AutoCAD, PTC Creo, SolidWorks) a plus but not required
  • Technical certifications (Net+, CompTIA A+, Microsoft) or an Associate degree in Computer Sciences is highly preferred
  • Self-organization skills
  • Ability to speak & understand fluent French including IT and technical terminology a major plus

Other Requirements

  • Excellent documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Obtain CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications within 12 months of employment
