Miller Industries is seeking a Divisional Controller for its facility in Greeneville, TN. As a member of Miller’s leadership team, reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will provide strategic financial information to management to make decisions about the company's future and ensure financial success. The position is responsible for overseeing preparation of entity financial statements and accounts payable function for the entity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees entity accounting activities for the organization while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  • Oversees the entity monthly closing, including general ledger balances and timely completion of reconciliations, as well as the management of the accounts payable function.  Review, analyze and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency and transparency. Account reconciliation process must maintain integrity of entity general ledger and its supporting sub-systems. Assess adequacy of accruals, reserves and overall financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with senior accounting on monthly and year-end closing process, including physical inventory count information.  Coordinate physical count activities with corporate guidance.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the entity to increase efficiencies and develop streamlined accounting processes, implementing solutions accordingly.
  • Notify and advise general manager on financial implications of operating activities, cost control actions and decisions.  Manage, analyze, evaluate and interpret entity financial forecasts and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavorable variances.
  • Monitor transactions and activities to ensure compliance of all key controls and activity level controls, as well as compliance with corporate policies.
  • Plans and executes the entity level activity component of the external audit.
  • Provide information for assigned audit activities for the entity to corporate controller.
  • Maintains records to ensure accurate information for state and local tax programs and various business tax reporting requirements, including property, sales and use and other local taxes.
  • Ensure procedures are followed to ensure prepaids and liabilities are properly recorded, and adequate accrual balances are maintained for the entity.

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Three or more years of Finance/Accounting department management experience.
  • Must be able to travel 5%; occasional international travel may be required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • CMA, CPA, or MBA in Accounting, or desire to pursue these accreditations.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.
  • ERP experience. LN experience highly desired.
  • Experience with several kinds of general ledger, accounting and reporting software; excellent in Excel and Word.
  • International and/or multi-currency accounting experience.
