Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
- Serves as a subject matter expert regarding compliance requirements across a broad range of topics, including environmental, export, government contracting, and others.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental laws and regulations.
- Applies for, renews, and closes environmental permits as needed.
- Maintains facility environmental plans, including SWPPP, SPCC, and HWCP.
- Conducts facility inspections to monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, plans, and permits.
- Maintains other facility regulatory records, including documented inspections, waste and emissions logs, manifests, reports, etc.
- Interfaces with regulatory agencies during external inspections, investigations, or requests for information.
- Assists Human Resources in the preparation of environmental training material for employees based on compliance obligations and identified environmental risks.
- Communicates on a regular basis with Operations teams to monitor changes in processes or materials that may have an impact on compliance obligations.
- Assists in maintaining an ISO 14001:2015 registered Environmental Management System.
- Conducts internal audits of company processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Writes procedures and/or work instructions for different environmental aspects of company operations.
- Collects data and tracks trends and progress regarding the company’s sustainability performance, including waste generation, GHG emissions, and water and energy usage.
- Maintains working knowledge of export and government contracting regulations, including EAR, ITAR, FAR, and DFARS.
- Reviews regulatory flow-downs on government contracts to determine applicability and assess compliance.
- Reviews export control requirements on international orders and writes control procedures when necessary.
- Attends regular training courses and maintains relevant certifications.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental or other related discipline, and 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong reading comprehension, technical writing, and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (SASB, ISO 14001:2015, RCRA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA, TMSP, DOT, etc.) preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite
