Hydraulic Front Stabilizer
One of the many advantages of CENTURY© heavy-duty rotators is the ability to rotate the boom 180 degrees over the cab of the unit in many chassis configurations. This provides additional clearance when towing to retract loads such as snorkel trucks or fire trucks with front buckets in closer allowing the apparatus on the front of the towed vehicle to hang over the deck of the rotator. With the boom forward, it also provides additional front axle weight on the tow truck. Many towers have also found this feature useful for lifting or recovering off the front of the unit, eliminating the need to turn the recovery vehicle around when pulling up to the rear of a casualty on the roadway. To assist with supporting the front suspension in these applications, CENTURY© has introduced a hydraulic front stabilizer. The stabilizer is available on new Miller Heavy Spec Kenworth T800’s. A version will also be available shortly that can be retrofitted to Miller Heavy Spec Kenworth T800 and Peterbilt chassis from 2007 to present.
